Awards and Recognition

2019    First recipient of the Tom Duke Excellence in Public Relations Award from the Akron Area Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The award is named for a founding member of the Chapter and awarded to someone who, like its namesake, demonstrates excellence in experience and character, leadership and service, and community involvement.

2018     Honored by the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) with the Lighthouse Award, which recognizes the career accomplishments and community service of a senior public relations professional.

2017      Elected into the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) College of Fellows, a national honorary organization comprised of senior practitioners and educators who have left a significant footprint on the public relations profession. (Fewer than 2 percent of PRSA members are accepted into the College of Fellows.)

2017      Successfully completed PRSA’s Reputation Management Certificate Program.

2011      PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Gold” Award in the category of Crisis Communications (Government, Associations, Nonprofits) for work on behalf of Saint Joseph Academy of Cleveland

2010      PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Gold” Award in the category of Crisis Communications (Government, Associations, Nonprofits) for work on behalf of The MetroHealth System

2009      “Best of Show” PRSA Cleveland Rocks Award for work with another agency on the national peanut butter recall, on behalf of King Nut Companies

2009      PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Gold” Award in the category of Crisis Communications (Business Products & Services) for work on the national peanut butter recall, on behalf of King Nut Companies

2004      Silver Anvil from PRSA (national) for work on a rezoning campaign on behalf of Barberton Citizens Hospital

2004      PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Gold” Award in the category of Community Relations for work on an environmental project for The Hoover Company of North Canton, Ohio

2003      PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Gold” Award in the category of Community Relations for work on a rezoning campaign on behalf of Barberton Citizens Hospital

2002      Silver Anvil from PRSA (national) for Vinyl By Design®, an outreach and education program conducted on behalf of The Vinyl Institute

2002      Gold SABRE Award from The Holmes Group recognizing the best public relations programs in the nation, awarded in the category of business-to-business marketing for work on behalf of the Wallcoverings Association

2002      East Central District PRSA Round-up Award for work on behalf of the Wallcoverings Association

2001      PRSA “Award of Excellence” for a program to support 3M’s redevelopment of a brownfield site in Copley, Ohio
